The Pool

At the rear of the house is the magnificent 12 x 6 metres private swimming pool which is sunk into the hill, the views in all directions over the surrounding countryside are absolutely breathtaking.

Loungers and deckchairs are available for sun seekers. Shade is provided at the pool by the wisteria covered pergola and from the umbrella pines.

The pool is in the sun all day, from the early morning through to the evening, when glorious sunsets silhouette the distant Apuan Alps.

If you wish to continue swimming after dark, the pool can be illuminated.

The Views

From the garden swing outside the sitting room, the South facing view across the valley to Gioviano is quite stunning.

Not surprisingly, the vista has been painted, sketched and photographed by every party that has ever visited “I Cipressi”.

All bedrooms and the middle bathroom have views over the valley and the vista from the swimming pool in all directions is breathtaking.

The house has grounds of approx 2 acres, mainly fruit trees and woodlands which cling to the terraced hillside.

The fruits include cherries, apples, pears, figs and olives.

Opposite the house, there is a traditional Tuscan hay barn that contains farm implements and firewood.

Though it is fairly secluded, “I Cipressi” is not isolated.

A charming local man who lives in the village owns the neighbouring farm. He visits the land occasionally to tend his fruit trees.

There are other small working farms in the vicinity.

Barbeque

In front of the listed barn there is an attractive stone barbecue with traditional oven type chimney.

No holiday is complete until you have experienced cooking over charcoal. Try enormous Florentine steaks sprinkled with minced fresh garlic and black pepper.

A path scented by Lavender leads up to the house.
