The property is situated in the North of Tuscany. Set in the foothills of the Apennines with their covering of acacia, beech, pine and chestnut forests, the Apuan Alps form a dramatic backdrop.
'I Cipressi' is perfectly situated to allow access to every conceivable type of holiday.
As well as the classical cities, there are the mountains, forests, beaches and sea, all set in the breathtaking Tuscan scenery.
I Cipressi is situated on a hill, reached by a winding wooded road, about 1.5 kilometres behind the village of Calavorno.
Being a working valley, the village is ideally placed to cater for your everyday needs and boasts a bakery, a friendly bar, a trattoria, chemist, tobacconist, butcher, grocer, green-grocer, video and photo shop and hairdresser.

Transport
There is a regular bus service from Calavorno to the next village up the valley, Ghivizzano and beyond.
Ghivizzano has a station bringing all tourist towns in Tuscany and beyond into easy reach of an excellent and cheap train service.
You are advised however, that a car is still essential for this holiday.
Misc
In all communication, you must bear in mind that in this particular area between Lucca and the Garfagnana, which is still the real Italy, it is rare to find shops or restaurants which speak the slightest English.
If you don’t want to get your fish (pesce) mixed up with your peaches (pesche) or, even worse, your meat (carne) mixed up with your dog (cane), it is just as well to at least carry a phrase book and dictionary wherever you go.
